Ramy represents a broad range of health care organisations, including hospitals, health systems, academic medical centres and a variety of other health care providers and companies of all sizes and maturity. He provides strategic advice and assists clients in conducting internal reviews to evaluate the existence of potential overpayments, and to make appropriate self-disclosures and voluntary refunds to federal payers. He supports clients on their health care data strategies, including complying with HIPAA privacy, security and breach notification requirements, and counsels clients on clinical research-related issues, including IRB policies and procedures and informed consent processes.
He also represents clients in connection with investigations and audits undertaken by federal and state regulatory and enforcement agencies and in administrative litigation, including handling appeals before the Provider Reimbursement Review Board and administrative law judges, and helping clients navigate and respond to data breaches and other privacy and security incidents.
He holds a JD, magna cum laude, from The George Washington University Law School (2001), an MA in Medical Sciences from the School of Medicine, Boston University (1998) and a BS in Biology from Boston College (1996).
