Shanice T. Scantlebury

Shanice T. Scantlebury is an Associate in Dentons' New York office and a member of the Intellectual Property and Technology practice. Her practice focuses on Intellectual Property Law, supporting clients on trademark, copyright, unfair competition and related intellectual property matters.

Shanice's work includes trademark clearance, prosecution, portfolio management, enforcement strategy, litigation research and written advocacy. She helps clients protect, manage and enforce their intellectual property rights in competitive markets, with matters involving brand protection, online enforcement, domain names, advertising and consumer-facing disputes.

She brings a practical understanding of how legal strategy supports broader business goals, including product launches, risk management and long-term brand value.

Before joining Dentons full-time, Shanice externed with the Office of Public Engagement at the US Patent and Trademark Office, where she supported initiatives to expand access to intellectual property education and resources for K–12 audiences. Before law school, she spent several years working with intellectual property teams at a global music streaming platform, a luxury fashion company and an intellectual property boutique, supporting US and global trademark portfolios, clearance and risk assessments, docketing and prosecution workflows.

She earned her JD, with a concentration in Intellectual Property and Information Law, from Fordham University School of Law, where she served on the Moot Court Board and was involved in the Fordham Intellectual Property Law Society and the Fordham Law Media and Entertainment Law Society. She earned her BA from Williams College.
