Michael Dorelli

Michael Dorelli is a Partner in Dentons' Litigation and Dispute Resolution group in Indianapolis, focusing on business litigation, professional liability disputes, and insurance coverage matters in state and federal courts throughout Indiana and other jurisdictions.

He advises clients ranging from individuals to Fortune 100 companies and their boards regarding contract disputes, business ownership and control disputes, shareholder and director liability, non-competition and trade secret matters, business torts, and professional negligence claims. He also represents insurers and insureds on insurance coverage issues and bad faith claims. Notable representations include securing dismissal of a post-merger shareholder lawsuit for an Indiana-based bank, obtaining summary judgment in favor of a business broker in a bankruptcy adversarial proceeding, and representing numerous attorneys in Indiana Disciplinary Commission investigations and formal proceedings. He has also represented clients in insurance coverage matters before the Indiana Court of Appeals, the Indiana Supreme Court and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

Michael holds a J.D., magna cum laude, from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law (1998), where he served as Executive Managing Editor of the Indiana Law Review, and a B.S. in Finance from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business (1994).

He is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America for Commercial Litigation (2014–2026) and in Indiana Super Lawyers. He holds an AV Preeminent Martindale-Hubbell rating and serves as Vice Chair of the Indemnification and Insurance Subcommittee of the ABA Business Law Section.
