Kevin J. Whyte

Kevin J. Whyte is Of Counsel at Dentons, practicing in the Corporate group, specializing in Mergers and Acquisitions. He previously served as chief legal officer for an international mining and manufacturing company for over twenty years, overseeing legal, environmental, and business development matters.

Kevin has extensive M&A experience, including serving as project manager for a $700 million acquisition of a public company; lead negotiator for the sale of a $300 million business unit; overseeing a $100 million acquisition of an aggregates company; leading acquisitions in the US, Canada, Brazil, and Colombia; and negotiating acquisitions of limestone, sand and gravel, byproduct services, and equipment fabrication companies. He also worked with a European parent company on public debt and credit facilities exceeding $500 million, managed discontinued liability exposures including asbestos and environmental claims, and was involved in the successful negotiation of collective bargaining agreements.

He holds a J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Richmond School of Law (1985) and a B.A. from the University of Virginia (1982). He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.

Kevin serves as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and the Duquesne University Paralegal Institute, and is a former President of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel.
