Jonathan R. Shulan, P.C. is a Partner in Dentons' St. Louis office, focusing on complex commercial disputes and high-stakes insurance coverage matters. He handles a broad spectrum of cases including banking and lending disputes, consumer class actions, construction disputes, ERISA and fiduciary litigation, noncompete and trade secret litigation, and real estate matters in federal and state courts and arbitration proceedings nationwide.

In his insurance practice, he serves as national coverage counsel and lead trial lawyer in contractual and bad-faith litigation involving general liability, property and casualty, professional liability, directors and officers, trade credit, and excess and specialty lines. Notable successes include securing summary judgment on a vexatious refusal claim seeking more than $20 million in damages, obtaining a $4.1 million arbitration award in a commercial dispute, and securing a judgment for more than $2.3 million plus $646,000 in prejudgment interest in a federal coverage action. He has also represented clients in government investigations and white collar criminal defense matters.

Jonathan holds a J.D. with high honors from the University of Arkansas (2010), an M.M. from the University of Missouri (2003), and a B.M. from Johns Hopkins University (2001). He previously served as a judicial clerk to Chief Judge Brian S. Miller of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas and to Associate Justice Jim Gunter of the Arkansas Supreme Court.
