John J. Kim

John J. Kim is a Partner and a member of Dentons' Capital Markets practice. His primary practice area is Capital Markets Law.

His experience includes commercial and residential mortgage-backed securities, primarily focusing on commercial and multifamily mortgage loan securitisations and franchise loan securitisations.

He also assists clients with other asset-related securities, such as real estate-backed collateral debt obligations, receivables securitisations and various off-balance sheet financing transactions.

He has represented various investment banking firms, including issuers and underwriters, loan sellers and bond insurers, among other capacities, in domestic and offshore public offerings and private placements of pass-through certificates and debt securities.

He was formerly with the law firm of Thacher Proffitt & Wood LLP. He holds a JD, cum laude, from St. John's University School of Law (1992), where he was notes and comments editor of the St. John's Law Review, and a BA from Yale University (1987).
