Jennifer A. Morrissey

Jennifer A. Morrissey is Counsel in the firm's Energy Law practice, based in the Washington, DC office. She divides her practice between traditional regulatory and transactional matters relating to energy, resources, and infrastructure, and federal litigation and appellate work related to energy and resources. She advises clients operating in the electricity and natural gas sectors before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on operations, rates, project development, enforcement, and compliance.

Ms. Morrissey's work includes advising investors and private equity firms on regulatory, environmental, and litigation risks associated with acquisitions of electric and gas utility assets, obtaining FERC and state regulatory approvals, and advising on M&A due diligence. She also represents clients in administrative litigation before federal agencies and in federal district and appellate courts, including petitions for review of agency actions, MDL and mass tort cases, and antitrust and civil RICO matters. She has represented electricity consumers groups before FERC and federal appellate courts, federal hydropower customers in MDL litigation over water storage rights, and natural gas producers in pipeline rate proceedings.

Jennifer holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, an M.A. in International Economics and International Law from The Johns Hopkins University SAIS, and a B.A. in English from Dominican University of California. She serves as Co-Editor in Chief of Dentons' Infrastructure & Strategic Innovation Think Tank Editorial Board. She has been recognized by The Legal 500 USA in Energy: Regulatory: Conventional Power and Energy: Litigation: Conventional Power, and received the Women's Council on Energy and the Environment Sparks Award.
