James D. Tuck

James D. Tuck is a Senior Managing Associate at Dentons in the Intellectual Property and Technology group, specializing in Intellectual Property Law. His practice focuses on litigation, including patent, trademark, and copyright infringement cases, handling a wide variety of issues through all stages of litigation.

James has prepared, drafted, and filed numerous patent applications before the USPTO and international IP offices for inventions related to database management software, streaming media content platforms, fiber optic sensors, wireless networks, firearms attachments, and hydrocarbon extraction systems. He previously worked full time in the oil and gas industry for a brokerage firm marketing and negotiating the sale of properties in Texas and other states.

He holds a J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law (2018), where he served as Executive Managing Editor of the Texas Tech Law Review and completed a course concentration in intellectual property. He also holds a B.S. in Physics from Grove City College and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Texas Permian Basin.

James is a former United States Marine Corps Sergeant, having deployed twice to Afghanistan. He is admitted to practice in Texas, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas, and before the USPTO.
