Gail A. Lione

Gail A. Lione is Senior Counsel in the Washington, DC office, practicing in Administrative Law and ESG advisory. She draws upon her extensive experience as a former general counsel and active board member to advise executive leadership and boards of public and private companies on business strategy, innovation, risk management, sustainability, and governance.

Ms. Lione is the founding co-chair of the Firm's US ESG Advisory Team and a member of the Global ESG Steering Group, and previously completed a term on Dentons' Global Inclusion Leadership Council. She currently serves on the board of Sargento Foods as chair of the Governance, Risk & Compliance Committee, and on the board of US News & World Report, Inc. on the Corporate Governance and Compensation Committees. Prior to joining Dentons, she served as general counsel of three companies in three industries, including as Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Secretary, and Chief Compliance Officer of Harley-Davidson, Inc. (1997-2010).

She is a Fellow of the Governance & Sustainability Center of The Conference Board, a member of the American Law Institute (elected 2015), and a former adjunct professor at Georgetown University. She holds a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a B.A., magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Rochester, where she served on its Board of Trustees for 25 years.
