Samuel Daughety

Samuel Daughety is a Counsel in Dentons' Regulatory, Public Policy and Government Affairs and Native American Law and Policy practices, advising clients on Indian lands and Indian gaming, tribal-state compacts, the fee-to-trust process, leasing, regulatory compliance, and tribal governmental matters.

He works with tribes on water rights and water settlement issues, and advises tribes and prospective investors on multi-million dollar economic development projects in Indian country, including matters involving tribal sovereign immunity, jurisdiction, and dispute resolution. He has represented tribal interests in state and federal courts of appeal and in arbitration proceedings, and has represented national tribal organizations as amicus curiae before federal courts on matters involving tribal trust lands, federal administrative procedure, and the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA). Prior to joining Dentons, he served as an assistant attorney general for the Tohono O'odham Nation.

Samuel holds a J.D., cum laude, from the James E. Rogers College of Law, The University of Arizona, and a B.A., universali cum honore, in English Literature and Political Science from Washington University.
