David S. Hall

David S. Hall is a Partner in Dentons' US Real Estate practice and co-chair of the Firm's Global Real Estate team. His primary practice area is Real Estate Law.

He focuses primarily on real estate finance, including advising and representing banks and institutional investors in relation to commercial real estate loan origination, purchase, sale and servicing. He also regularly advises clients with respect to workouts (including restructurings and foreclosures) of mortgage loans, mezzanine loans, preferred equity investments and unsecured loans.

Complementing his extensive background in real estate finance, fund formation, securitisation, capital markets, tax structuring, dispute resolution, loan restructurings and workouts, performing and non-performing notes sales, and mezzanine financing, is an in-depth knowledge of environmental law. His broad experience has enabled him to handle a wide variety of matters, from guiding clients through the challenges of the various credit markets to negotiating difficult, multifaceted deal structures.

He is also a member of Dentons' US Board as well as Division Chair of the Firm's various transactional practices, including Real Estate, US Capital Markets, Corporate, Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation, Hotels & Leisure, Tax, Trusts & Estates, and Venture Technology. In this role, he provides strategic advice to the groups' leaders and oversees the administrative and organisational aspects of their practices, including providing assistance with strategic planning, productivity improvement, lateral recruitment and new partner integration.

He was listed as a Recognized Lawyer by The Legal 500 (2022–2023). He holds an MBA from Fordham University (1995), a JD from Fordham University School of Law (1994) and a BSBA from Boston University (1991).
