Steven M. Masiello

Steven M. Masiello is a Partner and Chair of the US Government Contracts practice at Dentons, specialising in Government Contracts. He leads the firm's Global Government Contracts and Procurement group and serves as lead counsel in complex government contract matters across numerous industry segments, including aerospace and defense, construction, information technology, health care, biotechnology and energy.

Steve has extensive experience in cost accounting, cost allowability, contract estimating and pricing matters under the Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), FAR cost principles and the Truthful Cost or Pricing Data requirements. He handles bid protests, equitable adjustment and breach of contract claims, reverse-FOIA cases, and intellectual property disputes. He also conducts internal investigations and defends clients against allegations of contractor fraud under the False Claims Act (FCA). Prior to joining Dentons, he served as an officer in the United States Air Force and is a certified management accountant (CMA).

Steve holds a J.D. from Loyola Law School and a B.S. from the United States Air Force Academy.

He is ranked by Chambers USA for Government Contracts (2019–2026) and listed as a Recognized Lawyer in The Legal 500 USA for Government Contracts (2020–2025). He has received multiple BTI Client Service All-Star Awards and serves as Co-Chair of the ABA Public Contract Law Section's Accounting, Cost and Pricing Committee.
