Seena Forouzan is a Senior Managing Associate in Dentons' San Francisco/Oakland offices and a member of the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group. His primary practice area is Commercial Litigation.
He represents businesses, including numerous Fortune 100 insurers, in high-value commercial disputes involving complex contract and tort claims, bad faith litigation, and affirmative fraud actions. He has developed particular depth of expertise in long term care insurance, regularly handling matters of significant strategic importance for the industry. He also advises cannabis, tobacco, beverage and blockchain companies on regulatory matters.
His notable experience includes winning a landmark jury verdict for a Fortune 100 insurer in a case involving decades-long long term care insurance fraud, with a two-week federal jury trial in Florida returning a verdict awarding millions of dollars, punitive damages and other relief in a case of first impression of strategic importance for the LTC insurance industry. He also created favourable precedent for defendants seeking to remove California state-court actions in Kiang v. Nationwide Life & Annuity Ins. Co., No. 3-23-cv-04861-JSC, 2023 WL 8018254 (N.D. Cal. Nov. 20, 2023), and received summary judgment on a multi-billion-dollar negligence cause of action against a Fortune 100 company.
Prior to joining Dentons in 2022, he served as Of Counsel for a boutique litigation firm, focusing on complex, high-value cases nationwide including cryptocurrency litigation, regulatory work in cutting-edge industries, complex frauds, breach of contract, fallout from mergers and acquisitions, adversarial proceedings in bankruptcy matters, federal civil RICO, and issues of first impression in the luxury timeshare and insurance sectors.
His recognition includes Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Commercial Litigation (2026–2027), the 2025 Pathfinder for the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, Northern California Rising Stars in Super Lawyers (2024–2026), and the 2022 James Madison Freedom of Information Award for Advocacy from the Society of Professional Journalists. He is a member of the Order of the Coif and received the Paul Bryan Prize in Constitutional Law and the Myron Penn Laughlin Award.
He holds a J.D. from Emory University School of Law (2017), High Honors and Order of the Coif, and a B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of California, Irvine (2014).
