Scott J. Swerdloff

Scott J. Swerdloff is a Partner in the Capital Markets practice at Dentons in New York. He represents issuers, underwriters, and servicers in public and private offerings of residential mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities, including public and private resecuritizations.

He is ranked globally and in the US for Capital Markets: Securitization: RMBS by Chambers (2017–2026), with clients praising him as "extremely smart" with "great market knowledge" and noting that he is "practical and understands how to work with other deal parties." He is also recommended by The Legal 500 US for Structured Finance: Securitization and ranked by IFLR1000 for Structured Finance and Securitisation.

He assists clients in domestic and offshore, pass-through and debt, on-balance-sheet and off-balance-sheet transactions with a variety of structures and credit enhancement features, backed by prime, Alt-A, subprime, closed-end second lien, HELOC, reverse mortgage, and seasoned loans. He also assists sellers, purchasers, and servicers in connection with the sale, servicing, and purchase of whole loan mortgages.

Prior to joining Dentons, he was with Thacher Proffitt and Wood LLP. He holds a JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School (1997) and a BA from the University of Michigan (1994).
