Michael C. McGrath

Michael C. McGrath is a Partner and a member of Dentons' Capital Markets practice. His primary practice area is Banking and Finance Law, focusing on a wide range of domestic and international structured finance, lease finance and secured lending transactions.

He represents financial institutions and equity investors in these investments. His experience includes securitised lease receivables and related equipment, including containers, chassis, railcars and aircraft engines; representing financial institutions in the origination and syndication of revolving credit and term loan facilities; and representing equity investors in domestic and international equipment leasing transactions, including "pickle" and "lease-in, lease-out" transactions, as well as those involving infrastructure assets such as gas and electrical distribution systems and hydroelectric facilities.

He has also resecuritised retained residual classes of prior securitisations and established asset-backed commercial paper programmes, documenting the sale of lease receivables and trade receivables to various bank-sponsored commercial paper conduits.

His recognition includes being listed in Best Lawyers in America, Securitization and Structured Finance Law, 2027 and recognised by The Legal 500 in "Securitization and Derivatives" (2007).

Prior to practising law, he worked as an audit manager for Price Waterhouse for six years and as an officer in Citicorp's Accounting Policies and Procedures department for two years. He was formerly with the law firm of Thacher Proffitt and Wood LLP.

He holds a JD from Fordham University School of Law (1988) and a BS, magna cum laude, from Boston College (1980).
