Robert F. Scoular

Robert F. Scoular is a Partner in Dentons' Los Angeles office, focusing on complex commercial litigation, appellate advocacy, and trial practice. He has been lead counsel in a broad range of litigation, including class actions, shareholder derivative suits, patent, copyright and trademark infringement, trade secret misappropriation, government contracts, False Claims Act (qui tam), antitrust, securities, and product liability disputes.

He has represented major clients including Raytheon Missile Systems, The Boeing Company, McDonnell Douglas Corporation, Hughes Electronics, First American Title Insurance Company, Toyo Tire, Allstate Insurance, Anheuser-Busch, and Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Notable matters include representing Raytheon in litigation for damages of over $110 million for defective rocket motors, representing Boeing and McDonnell Douglas in multidistrict litigation arising from the crash of Alaska Airlines Flight 261, and successfully defending suits seeking over $750 million by Hyundai Space and Aircraft Company. He has also represented companies and employees in government investigations, including alleged violations of the False Claims Act and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

Robert holds a J.D. from St. Louis University (1968) and a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from St. Louis University (1964). He served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Charles J. Vogel of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
