Michael M. Shipper

Michael M. Shipper is Counsel in Dentons Sirote's Litigation practice group, specializing in Dispute Resolution. He has over thirty years of experience representing businesses, institutions, insurers, and individuals in legal matters, including contracts, wills, trusts and estates, leases, general civil and commercial litigation, employment and personnel matters, and appellate practice.

Michael maintains a practice in state and federal courts across Alabama and the southeastern United States, handling both litigation and non‑litigation matters. He has obtained significant appellate victories, including reversing a premises liability verdict in Wal‑Mart Stores, Inc. v. Manning, reversing a defamation verdict in Wal‑Mart Stores, Inc. v. Smitherman, reversing class certification in National Sec. Fire & Cas. Co. v. DeWitt, and dismissing a national class action complaint in Lisk v. Lumber One Wood Preserving, LLC. He also helps clients form, govern, and operate businesses.

He holds a J.D. from The University of Alabama School of Law (1990). He is admitted to practice in Alabama, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, all U.S. District Courts in Alabama, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
