Kristen B. Weil

Kristen B. Weil is a Partner in the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group, based in the New York office, practicing in Dispute Resolution. She represents domestic and international clients in complex commercial litigation and international arbitration, including class actions and multi-district litigation, with particular experience defending long-term care insurers in individual and class action litigation and advising on regulatory compliance and rate increase issues. She also handles business tort and breach of contract suits, regulatory investigations and enforcement proceedings, and life and title insurance matters.

Ms. Weil has won favorable verdicts and resolved cases well before trial in US federal and state courtrooms throughout the country. She has first-chaired a federal bench trial securing a $10.3 million judgment and currently represents a national long-term care insurer in challenging a state insurance regulator's failure to act on rate increase applications. She represents clients before international arbitration tribunals including ICSID, LCIA, and ICC, with experience in construction, software and licensing, and foreign investment disputes, including a pharmaceutical manufacturer in an ICSID arbitration against the US government under NAFTA and a prominent US university in an LCIA arbitration involving a medical school and hospital development in Malaysia.

She holds a J.D. from Northwestern University (2007) and a B.S., magna cum laude, from The Ohio State University (2003). She has been listed as a Recognized Lawyer by The Legal 500 (2022-2023) and as a Rising Star in Civil Litigation by New York Super Lawyers (2014-2018).
