Carter White

Carter White is a Partner in the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, based in the New York office. His practice is wide-ranging, including complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy litigation, and appellate advocacy, with a varied client base including insurers, telecommunications providers, power generators, casinos, and banks.

Mr. White has been involved in all aspects of litigation, from preparation of pleadings, discovery, and motion practice through trial and appeal. Notable representations include winning a motion to dismiss a class action complaint on constitutional standing grounds with affirmance in the Second Circuit, forcing withdrawal of a consumer class action through dual service of a motion to dismiss and a Rule 11 motion, defending a financial institution in breach of contract claims before and at trial, briefing and arguing a civil rights case before the Seventh Circuit on behalf of a terminated employee, and representing various foreign debtors in Chapter 15 proceedings involving complex procedural issues under the Hague Convention.

Carter holds a J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law (2013), where he served on the Articles Review Board of the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology, and a B.A., cum laude, from the University of Southern California (2009).
