Henry C. Cohen is Senior Counsel at Dentons, specializing in Estate Planning. He has been practicing law for more than 45 years and is experienced in estates and trusts, tax and business matters, with extensive experience in compensation planning, business ownership transfer transactions, mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, estate planning and administration, and corporation/shareholder transactions.

Henry has counseled individuals, families, and businesses across a wide array of industries and has represented clients before the IRS and other tax authorities and tribunals. He successfully argued a multimillion‑dollar tax case before the Ohio Supreme Court, represented a large corporate bankruptcy estate in defending against a multimillion‑dollar IRS assessment, and defended a large corporation against an IRS assessment that exceeded the total value of the client company. He also represented a large partnership in a seven‑year case against IRS claims and has handled complex probate and trust estate administration.

He holds a J.D. from Cornell Law School (1971) and a B.S. from Miami University (1967). He worked as a Certified Public Accountant at Arthur Young & Company from 1973‑1985, serving as partner in charge of the tax department for the Pittsburgh office from 1981‑1985.

Henry is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Tax Law, Litigation and Controversy – Tax, and Trusts and Estates, and has been included in Pennsylvania Super Lawyers and Naples Illustrated's Top Lawyers for Tax Law.
