Douglas Chiu

Douglas Chiu is a Managing Associate and a member of Dentons' Capital Markets practice. His primary practice area is Capital Markets Law.

He advises on structured finance and securitisation transactions involving a range of assets, including CRE, CMBS, RMBS, esoteric products, collateralised loan obligations and other structured lending products.

He represents domestic and global banking institutions and other market participants on transaction structuring, regulatory issues and the drafting and negotiation of offering and transactional documentation.

Prior to joining Dentons, he was a vice president at a leading global investment bank, primarily focusing on ABS and CLO (including CRE, CMBS, RMBS and esoteric) and other structured lending products, as well as lending and capital markets trading. He also previously worked at another major financial institution covering equity and fixed income products.

He is the author of "Inversion Subversion: Corporate Inversions and the New Federal Laws Against Them," 20 Fordham J. Corp. & Fin. L. 717 (2015). He holds a JD from Fordham University School of Law (2015), an MPA from New York University's Graduate School of Public Service (2010) and a BA, cum laude, from New York University (2008).
