David B. Caughran

David B. Caughran is a Managing Associate in Dentons' Corporate practice group, focusing on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and other negotiated transactions for both publicly- and privately-held entities.

He also advises companies locating or expanding in South Carolina on economic incentive matters, including fee in lieu of tax agreements, special source revenue credit arrangements, job development credits, job tax credits, and abandoned building and textile revitalization credits. Prior to joining Dentons, he was an associate in the corporate group at an international law firm, and interned for the Honorable J. Michelle Childs at the US District Court for the District of South Carolina.

David holds a J.D., cum laude from the University of South Carolina Law School (2019) and a B.A., cum laude from Sewanee: The University of the South (2010).

He is Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Charleston Horticultural Society and a member of the SC Economic Development Institute.
