Chad A. Wissinger

Chad A. Wissinger is a Shareholder at Dentons, practicing in the Dispute Resolution group. He has nearly 30 years of experience in construction litigation, environmental matters (with a particular focus on groundwater remediation), regulatory compliance, and complex contract negotiations. He is nationally recognized by The Legal 500 for complex environmental regulatory work and peer‑selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America for construction litigation.

Chad has significant first‑chair trial experience in jury trials, bench trials, before the Pennsylvania Board of Claims and Environmental Hearing Boards, and in arbitrations under AAA and JAMS/Endispute Rules, having taken claims totaling in excess of $90 million to verdict over more than 150 trial days. He regularly counsels clients on incidents involving OSHA, MSHA, DEP, EPA, and other regulatory agencies, conducts complex internal investigations into whistleblower allegations, fatalities, catastrophic events, and workplace shootings, and litigates those cases. Representative matters include obtaining a net verdict of over $1 million in a multi‑week federal jury trial for a concrete panel manufacturer while defeating nearly $10 million in counterclaimed damages; successfully defending a major hospital system in an OSHA workplace violence investigation with no citations issued; and obtaining an excellent outcome in a three‑week Board of Claims trial defending an $18 million suit, with the plaintiff awarded only $74,000. He also resolved a series of OSHA citations for a national manufacturer with all fines reduced by over 50%, and achieved comprehensive injunctive relief for limited partners in Allegheny County Court.

Chad holds a J.D. from Boston University School of Law (1998) and a B.A., cum laude, in Policy Studies with a Certificate in Environmental Studies from Dickinson College (1995). He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

He is a Fellow of the Academy of Trial Lawyers and serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he co‑teaches an Occupational Health and Safety course.
