Anamaria Hazard Meanes

Anamaria Hazard Meanes is a Partner in the Regulatory, Public Policy and Government Affairs practice at Dentons, specializing in Real Estate Law. She focuses on municipal law, commercial real estate, zoning, planning, and land use matters.

Anamaria previously served as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Atlanta, where her primary responsibility was advising on permitting, historic preservation, affordable housing, zoning, and land use matters. She currently represents private sector and government entities in the permitting and development of residential, non‑residential, and mixed‑use projects. She has also represented other government entities and commercial developers in various development, permitting, and litigation matters.

She holds a J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law (2015), with a Certificate in Environmental and Land Use Law, and a B.A. in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley (2010). She is admitted to practice in Georgia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

Anamaria has been recognized in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Government Relations Practice, Commercial Litigation, Land Use and Zoning Law, and Municipal Law, and received the American Bar Association’s Section of State and Local Government Law “Up & Comers Award” (2022). She was also named to the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s “40 Under 40” list (2026).
