Theodore B. Manuel

Theodore B. Manuel is a Partner in the firm's Real Estate practice, based in Charleston. He regularly represents lenders, master servicers, and special servicers in financing transactions involving commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), including asset management, workouts, debt and corporate restructurings, loan assumptions and defeasances. He also focuses on non-CMBS lender representation, including origination and servicing of commercial mortgage loans, multifamily agency programs for affordable housing and senior housing, credit facility transactions, and multi-property pool transactions.

His experience also includes debt financing matters for private equity sponsors, corporate borrowers, investment funds, and private lenders, as well as representing credit opportunity and private equity funds in the acquisition, workout and disposition of distressed assets, including mortgage loans, lease portfolios, bank-owned property, C&I loans and other secured credit facilities.

Bo holds a J.D., cum laude from the University of South Carolina Law School (2000) and a B.A. from Washington and Lee University (1996).

He is recognised by The Best Lawyers in America® for Banking and Finance Law in Charleston (2024–2026). He is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association (Future Leaders program graduate), the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council, and the New York and South Carolina Bar Associations.
