Steven J. Labovitz

Steven J. Labovitz is a Partner in the firm's Administrative Law and Government Affairs practice, based in the Atlanta office. He focuses on government affairs at the local, state, and federal level, with an emphasis on legislative action, economic development, public finance, privatization, and government efficiency, with extensive experience in formulating public-private partnerships.

He was counsel and architect for the tax allocation district and public financing utilized for the Atlantic Station project, the largest Brownfield development project in the country. Prior to joining Dentons, he served as Chief of Staff for the City of Atlanta from 1994 to 1997, where he was instrumental in the redevelopment of the downtown business district and architect of the financial terms leading to the US$141 million Philips Arena, with an additional US$72 million in public improvements. He has since worked on several other major and minor league stadiums around the country, including representing the Atlanta Falcons in negotiations for a new state-of-the-art football stadium.

Steve holds a J.D. from Emory University School of Law and a B.S. from the University of Pittsburgh. He has been ranked Band 1 by Chambers USA in Government Relations: State & Local (Nationwide, 2023-2026), listed by The Legal 500 in Government Relations, and recognized as one of Atlanta's 500 most powerful leaders by Atlanta Magazine.
