Samuel S. Olens

Samuel S. Olens is a Partner in Dentons' Regulatory, Public Policy and Government Affairs practice and a member of the firm's State Attorneys General group, based in the Atlanta office, practicing in Administrative Law. He was twice elected Attorney General of Georgia (2010 and 2014), where he worked to strengthen penalties for sex trafficking, guided a comprehensive revision of Georgia's sunshine laws, and led efforts to stem the epidemic of prescription drug abuse.

Prior to serving as Attorney General, Sam was Chairman of the Cobb County Board of Commissioners (2002-2010) and previously served as a county commissioner. He was Chair of the Atlanta Regional Commission and a member of the Board of the Department of Community Affairs. He has been admitted to practice law in Georgia and the District of Columbia and is a registered mediator/arbitrator with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution.

Sam has been recognized by Chambers USA as Band 1 in Government Relations: State & Local (Nationwide, 2023-2025), by The Legal 500 in State Attorneys General and Government Relations, and by Best Lawyers in America in Government Relations (2026). He received the American Bar Association's Jefferson Fordham, Daniel J. Curtin, Jr., Lifetime Achievement Award (2025) and was named Patriot of the Year by the USO (2024).
