Samantha L. Groden

Samantha L. Groden is a Partner in Dentons' Health Care practice, focusing on health care fraud and abuse and regulatory compliance. Her primary practice area is Health Care Law.

She has extensive experience representing hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers, medical practices, medical device and durable medical equipment manufacturers and suppliers, and group purchasing organizations.

Her experience includes counselling on compliance with federal and state anti-kickback and anti-inducement law, the Stark Law, the Beneficiary Inducement Law and other Medicare and Medicaid rules and sub-regulatory policies relating to coverage, reimbursement, pricing, marketing and sales. She develops and implements corporate compliance programs and manages the implementation of corporate integrity agreements.

She advises on operational and contractual matters, including physician employment arrangements, personal service arrangements, discount and rebate offerings, and sales and marketing arrangements. She also drafts and negotiates voluntary disclosures submitted to government authorities including CMS and HHS-OIG, and assists with health care enforcement actions under the US False Claims Act and its state law counterparts.

Prior to joining Dentons, she served as counsel in the Health Law Group at the University of California, Office of the President.

Her recognition includes being ranked in Chambers USA California Healthcare, Up and Coming (2026), recognised in The Legal 500 for Healthcare Service Providers (2025), and named a "Northern California Rising Star" in health care law by Super Lawyers (2022–2023). She holds a JD, Order of the Coif, from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law (2013) and a BA, summa cum laude, from Harvard University (2008).
