Nicholas Jackson

Nicholas Jackson is a Partner in the firm's Intellectual Property and Technology practice, based in the Washington, DC office, practicing in Intellectual Property Law. He focuses on intellectual property litigation at the US International Trade Commission, with experience handling more than a dozen Section 337 investigations on behalf of both complainants and respondents in patent infringement and trade secret misappropriation cases. He also practices before US federal courts at the trial and appellate levels, including the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Mr. Jackson's technical expertise spans a wide variety of technologies, including medical devices, wearable technology, consumer products, cellular telephones, cloud computing, semiconductor manufacturing, optical imaging devices, and automotive design. Notable representations include representing LG Electronics in an ITC action against 29 Chinese respondents for refrigerator water filtration devices, representing Dexcom in protecting its continuous glucose monitoring systems, obtaining a $600 million jury verdict in a coronary artery stent patent case, and successfully defending Synchronoss against patent infringement claims by Dropbox, resulting in dismissal affirmed on appeal.

He holds a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Tennessee College of Law (2009), where he was a member of the Tennessee Law Review editorial board and the Giles S. Rich IP Moot Court Team, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee (2004). Prior to entering the legal profession, he worked as a quality assurance engineer for Denso Manufacturing, a tier-one automotive parts manufacturer.
