Malina E. Dumas

Malina E. Dumas is a Partner on Dentons' Cannabis and Corporate teams, providing legal counsel to businesses on complex and evolving regulations impacting medical and adult-use cannabis markets nationwide.

She assists clients with day-to-day licensing and regulatory matters across multiple states where cannabis has been legalized, including Maine, Kentucky, New Jersey, New York, Minnesota and Vermont. She provides licensing and regulatory compliance support for complex M&A and ESOP transactions requiring coordinated approvals across multiple jurisdictions, and leads government relations efforts advocating for sensible regulation at the state and local levels. She serves as outside general counsel to many licensed companies, advising on the full business cycle from obtaining licenses to ongoing regulatory compliance.

Malina holds a J.D. with honors from the University of Washington School of Law (2018), where she participated in the Tribal Court Public Defense Clinic, and an M.A., cum laude from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service (2013). She also holds a B.A., cum laude from Wellesley College (2010).
