Kate Simon

Kate Simon is a Shareholder at Dentons Davis Brown in central Iowa, focusing on real estate law and family law. She is known for her approachable style and her ability to give clear, practical legal advice to individuals, families, and businesses.

She represents clients across a wide range of commercial and residential real estate matters, including closings, title insurance and abstract review, drafting deeds and closing documents, and preparing close statements. As an authorized field issuer for Iowa Title Guaranty, she can underwrite and issue residential title policies directly. She also handles real estate litigation involving property boundary disputes, adverse possession claims, breach of contract, seller disclosure issues, HOA covenants, and foreclosure matters. She has worked on the real estate due diligence team for one of the largest energy holding companies in the US on wind and solar projects totaling more than US$3.9 billion.

In her family law practice, Kate guides clients through divorce and dissolution, child custody and parenting time disputes, domestic violence and protective orders, child support modifications, contempt actions, and appeals.

Kate holds a Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School (2018) and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Global Politics from Arizona State University's W.P. Carey School of Business (2014).
