Kate (Celia) Douglas

Kate (Celia) Douglas is Counsel in Dentons’ St. Louis office and a member of the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group, focusing on Insurance Law. She practises complex civil litigation including federal class actions, products liability actions, insurance coverage matters and construction litigation.

She has experience in a variety of commercial, tort, products liability and insurance matters, where she has worked on various facets of litigation, including discovery, depositions, trials and appellate work.

Kate rejoined Dentons in 2025 after serving as a partner at a national law firm, where she managed high-profile insurance coverage cases and led legal teams.

Her representative experience includes representing an insurer in a coverage case arising from environmental liability and personal injury lawsuits against a large manufacturer of PFAS-containing products; representing numerous insurers in opioid epidemic coverage disputes; representing several talc suppliers in products liability litigation; and serving as national coordinating counsel for several clients with asbestos-related liabilities.

She is recognised in Best Lawyers in America for Product Liability Litigation – Defendants (2027) and was a Super Lawyers (Missouri and Kansas) Rising Star in 2012, 2013 and 2014. She holds a JD, magna cum laude, from Saint Louis University School of Law (2005), where she was managing editor of the St. Louis University Law Journal’s Childress Lecture Issue and a member of the school’s nationally qualifying trial team, and a BS in Speech Communications, summa cum laude, from the University of Southern Illinois (2002).
