Joshua Haevernick

Joshua Haevernick is a Senior Managing Associate in Dentons' San Francisco/Oakland office and a member of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, with a focus on Commercial Litigation. He is experienced in all phases of litigation, from pleadings through trial and appeal, and practises in both state and federal courts, as well as in FINRA arbitrations.

He has experience in a broad range of matters, including life and disability insurance litigation, insurance coverage litigation across various lines of insurance, business and corporate issues, bankruptcy and receiverships, secured transactions and creditors' rights, distressed assets and real estate, construction defect litigation, and toxic torts.

His practice includes defence of insurance bad faith claims and declaratory judgment actions, as well as claims regarding policy coverage, sales practices, unfair competition laws (UCL) and related consumer fraud, and agent misconduct claims. He has consistently achieved successful results for clients in high-stakes disputes across a variety of fields.

Prior to joining Dentons, he worked as a litigation associate in a full-service law firm, focusing on commercial litigation. While at UCLA School of Law, he served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Marc Gross of the Los Angeles Superior Court and was a member of The International Justice Project, where he served as Director of the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights team.

He was named "One to Watch" for Litigation – Real Estate and Litigation – Banking and Finance in The Best Lawyers in America (2024–2026). He holds a JD from UCLA School of Law (2015) and a BA, cum laude, from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo (2011).
