Joseph H. Harrison, III

Joseph H. Harrison III is a Senior Managing Associate at Dentons, practicing in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution group, specializing in Dispute Resolution. He litigates a broad range of civil disputes in state and federal court, including real estate, contract claims, torts, personal injury, property damage, and constitutional claims.

Joe has substantial trial experience, including jury trials in state and federal court, bench trials, pre‑ and post‑trial appellate experience before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and multiple small claims trials. Notable matters include obtaining summary judgment for a public state university in a dispute arising from the Indiana statewide 4‑H program; representing a public university and two employees in a Title IX and constitutional lawsuit, successfully defending against a preliminary injunction (Doe v. Univ. of S. Ind., 43 F.4th 784 (7th Cir. 2022)); and serving as second chair in a 5‑day federal jury trial representing a public university and officials. He also has substantial litigation discovery experience, including e‑discovery, and has handled transactional matters including corporate governance, compliance, contract drafting, and real estate.

Joe holds a J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law (2018) and a B.S. in Public Affairs with highest distinction from Indiana University (2015), with a Kelley School of Business Certificate in Business Foundations. He is admitted to practice in Indiana, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
