Doug Janicik

Doug Janicik is Counsel in Dentons' Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, specialising in Dispute Resolution. He focuses on commercial litigation, employment and labor, appellate advocacy, insurance litigation, and arbitration, representing clients in individual and class actions in both federal and state courts.

Doug has litigated claims involving breach of executive and non-competition agreements, insurance bad faith, business torts, LLC and shareholder disputes, wage and hour compliance, and employment discrimination. He has argued appeals before the Ninth Circuit, Fifth Circuit, and the California, Arizona and Colorado Courts of Appeal. A former civil engineer officer in the US Air Force, Doug also served twice as a law clerk to judges on the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Doug holds a J.D., summa cum laude, from the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as Associate Editor on the Ohio State Law Journal. He also holds a B.A. in Civil Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.

He is recognised in The Best Lawyers in America for Commercial Litigation (2026) and was listed by The Legal 500 United States in Labor and Employment – Labor-Management Relations (2018).
