David K. (D.K.) Boydstun, Jr.

David K. (D.K.) Boydstun, Jr. is an Associate at Dentons in the Louisville office, practicing in the Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy group, specializing in Bankruptcy and Insolvency Law. D.K. has been involved in numerous significant bankruptcy and restructuring matters, including representing the debtor in an involuntary chapter 11 case for a Chrysler‑Dodge‑Jeep‑Ram dealership, obtaining approval of debtor‑in‑possession financing and closing on the sale of dealership assets; representing the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in 19 jointly administered cases of skilled nursing facilities with more than 3,000 beds in Pennsylvania; representing the Liquidating Trust of a coal mining company with over $100 million in debt; and representing the Liquidating Trust of Heywood Healthcare, Inc., including two community hospitals in Massachusetts, during the claims reconciliation process. He also has experience representing insider debtor‑in‑possession financing lenders and lessors in lease assignment negotiations.

D.K. holds a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Mississippi School of Law (2021), where he served as Associate Articles Editor and Staff Editor of the Mississippi Law Journal, and a BBA, magna cum laude, from Mississippi State University (2018). He was admitted to practice in Kentucky in 2021.

Prior to joining Dentons, he served as a judicial law clerk for Judge Jamie A. Wilson of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Mississippi and for Justice Josiah D. Coleman of the Supreme Court of Mississippi.
