Anne E. Waddell

Anne E. Waddell is a Partner at Dentons, practicing in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution group, specializing in Dispute Resolution. She focuses on complex commercial litigation, white collar and government investigations, and appeals, representing tech companies and financial institutions in business litigation, consumer class actions, intellectual property disputes, and white collar defense.

Anne has extensive jury trial and appellate oral argument experience as a former Deputy Attorney General at the California Department of Justice, where she represented the Governor's Office and various state entities. She also served as a Deputy District Attorney, handling over 500 misdemeanor and felony cases. Notable matters include obtaining a motion to dismiss without leave to amend in a fraud case against tech company executives in the Northern District of California; obtaining a voluntary dismissal of all claims related to California's privacy laws; and obtaining an order granting a motion to dismiss ERISA claims against a national insurance company. She also successfully resolved over nine years of litigation spanning four courts in favor of a state entity and acquired a vexatious-litigant order from the First District of the California Court of Appeal.

She holds a J.D. from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law (2016), where she was Executive Senior Editor of the USC Business Law Advisor, and a B.A. from the University of California, Irvine (2012). She is admitted to practice in California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Eastern, Northern, and Southern Districts of California.
