Andy (Andrew) Gruber

Andy (Andrew) Gruber is a Partner in Dentons' Employment and Labor practice group and co-leader of the US Litigation and Dispute Resolution group, specialising in Employment Law. He has over 25 years of experience in employment litigation, traditional labor law and competitive business practice litigation, with extensive trial experience in federal and state courts, the EEOC, the NLRB and multiple state agencies.

Andrew focuses on advice and counsel on employment issues, collective bargaining, grievance and arbitration, union avoidance, NLRB representation, and the defense and prosecution of restrictive covenants and trade secret matters. He also conducts internal investigations, provides employment law training, and handles employment and labor due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, including transactions involving union bargaining units.

Andrew has served as employment and labor counsel on numerous high-profile transactions, including German American Bancorp's merger with Heartland BancCorp and First Merchants Corporation's merger with First Savings Financial Group. He obtained a full defense jury verdict for American Health Network against a former physician's multi-million dollar claims, and a jury trial verdict for Kroger on claims of racial discrimination. He has also led negotiations with multiple unions and prosecuted restrictive covenant and trade secret claims against former executives.

Andrew holds a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Toledo College of Law (1999) and a B.A. in Political Science from Ohio State University (1996).
