Stephen Della Fera is a Partner and a member of Dentons' Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. His primary practice area is Commercial Litigation.

His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, representing both individual and corporate plaintiffs and defendants across a number of different industries and in a variety of disputes, including insurance disputes, contractual lending disputes, employment litigation, class action defence, intellectual property disputes, and disputes arising under federal and state false claims act legislation. His practice includes all aspects of litigation, including preparing pleadings and motion papers, managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, trial and appeal.

His representative experience includes representing a major US insurer in a qui tam litigation brought under the New York False Claims Act, winning a motion to dismiss the complaint, which is currently under appeal; representing a company in a qui tam action brought under the Delaware False Claims Act; and representing a commercial landlord in a contributory trademark infringement case, obtaining dismissal of three of the four claims brought against the company, sitting second chair at trial for the remaining claim and drafting all pre-trial and post-trial motion papers.

He has also represented US food manufacturers in multiple class actions, which concluded with favourable settlements; represented a foreign company in international arbitration concerning a contract dispute; represented US insurers in insurance coverage disputes; represented a New York lender in a contractual dispute, obtaining denial of a motion for a preliminary injunction and a favourable settlement; and represented lenders in multiple contract disputes, obtaining final judgments in the lenders' favour for recovery of the full amounts outstanding under the loans at issue.

He joined Dentons in 2014 following his graduation from law school. He served as a law clerk to the Honourable Henry B. Pitman, United States Magistrate Judge, United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, from September 2015 through September 2016, and rejoined Dentons in October 2016.

While attending Fordham University School of Law, he was a Ruth Whitehead Whaley Scholar and a recipient of a Fordham Law Merit Scholarship. He also received the 2014 Donald J.
