Sarah K. Franklin

Sarah K. Franklin is a Shareholder at Dentons Davis Brown, specialising in Commercial Litigation. She represents insurance companies, financial institutions, commercial and individual property owners, product manufacturers and employers in complex business and real estate litigation, including zoning and property tax disputes, bad faith claims, partnership disputes, and government contract procurement matters.

Sarah has successfully first-chaired bench and jury trials and has negotiated and mediated numerous cases. She has argued before the Iowa Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Iowa, and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. Notable matters include representing an agricultural cooperative in a property tax dispute before the Iowa Supreme Court that had significant implications for Iowa's fuel distribution industry, prevailing in a six-day bench trial on breach of contract and business tort claims for a pathology laboratory, and representing a software company in a trade secret lawsuit spanning six years.

Sarah holds a J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law (2007) and a B.A. from the University of Iowa (2004). She serves on the Dentons Davis Brown Board of Directors and as Co-General Counsel.

She is recognised by Chambers USA in Litigation: General Commercial (2026), by The Best Lawyers in America in Commercial Litigation, Appellate Practice, Litigation – Real Estate, and Litigation – Labor and Employment (2023–2025), and has been selected to Great Plains Super Lawyers Rising Stars since 2017.
