S. Shujaat Ali PC is a Partner at Dentons, practicing in the Capital Markets Law group. Shujaat has almost 20 years of experience across the full spectrum of mortgage and consumer loan transactions, including whole loan purchase and sales (new origination, GNMA early buyout loans, performing and non‑performing), servicing transfers (bulk, flow and co‑issue), and servicing agreements and vendor agreements for mortgage originators and servicers. He has worked on corporate finance, M&A, and commercial real estate transactions, and has represented issuers, sellers, servicers, and underwriters in public and private mortgage‑backed and asset‑backed securities transactions. He has successfully handled hundreds of transactions backed by billions of dollars of collateral for banks, hedge funds, fintechs, private equity investors, REITs, servicers, and mortgage companies.

He holds a J.D. from Cornell Law School (2002), where he was managing editor of the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy, and a B.A. in Economics, History, and Psychology, summa cum laude, from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey (1999). He is admitted to practice in Texas.
