Robin Winston

Robin Winston is a Senior Advisor at Dentons, specializing in Administrative Law and government relations. A distinguished business leader and public policy professional, he provides strategic counsel on public outreach, community relations, government affairs, and political strategy. He is the founder of The Winston/Terrell Group, one of the largest minority‑owned government affairs and public outreach firms in the nation.

Robin has a distinguished career in government and politics, including serving as Chair of the Indiana Democratic Party (1999–2003)—the first African‑American to hold that position. He previously served as a community development specialist at the Indiana Department of Commerce, directing $11 million in grants for infrastructure and housing; as a special assistant to Lieutenant Governor Frank O'Bannon; and as chief of staff to the Louisville Board of Aldermen. He is the founder of ProgressiveThoughtMatters, a nonprofit that has registered over 70,000 new voters, driving a 40% increase in African‑American turnout in Kentucky and significant increases in Indiana and Pennsylvania.

He is a life member of the NAACP, serves on the Indiana State Museum Board of Directors, and chaired the $3.1 million Levi Coffin Center Interpretive Project. He funded a $100,000 initiative by the Indiana Historical Society to preserve African‑American history and was executive producer of the Emmy‑nominated PBS documentary Indiana Trailblazers. He has been recognized as Entrepreneur of the Year by the Center for Leadership Development and has received the Madame C.J. Walker Award for Leadership, among other honours.
