Jake (Jacob) Bonifield

Jake (Jacob) Bonifield is Of Counsel at Dentons, practicing in the Economic Development department and Public Policy practice group, specializing in Administrative Law. He focuses on policy-making, including rulemaking and legislative lobbying, supporting clients at local, state, and national levels. He often serves municipalities and other government entities as their outside general counsel.

Prior to entering private practice, Jake served as director of government relations for a postsecondary institution in Chicago, managing federal advocacy work across 23 campuses and state and national relationships across the Midwest and Southeast. He is currently Chair of the Florida Association of Proprietary Schools and Colleges Legislative Committee and previously wrote a monthly politics column for the Indianapolis Business Journal.

He holds a J.D., cum laude, from the John Marshall Law School (2018) and a B.A. in Political Science from DePauw University (2013), where he was a Management Fellow and Bonner Scholar.
