Robert W. Hoffman

Robert W. Hoffman is a Counsel in Dentons' San Francisco office, focusing on health care insurance regulation and insurance law.

He previously served as the Deputy Commissioner for Health Care in the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner, where he was responsible for implementation and enforcement of comprehensive health care reform legislation and oversaw market conduct examinations of health care insurers and HMOs. He has extensive experience advising regulators, insurers and HMOs on health care regulatory statutes, regulations, coverage, rates, ERISA, and provider issues, and has negotiated settlements of multiple rate cases and regulatory enforcement matters.

Robert holds a J.D. from Loyola Law School Los Angeles (1980) and a B.A. in English and Sociology from the University at Albany (1972).
