Robert S. Schuda

Robert S. Schuda is a Partner in Dentons' Regulatory, Public Policy and Government Affairs practice and a leader of the firm's Environment and Natural Resources offering in the United States, practicing in Environmental Law. With nearly 30 years of experience in environmental law and regulation, he offers deep expertise in siting, permitting, environmental review, and environmental due diligence for energy producers.

He has advised global pesticide producers on registering new bio-pesticides with the US EPA, defended manufacturers in significant multi-agency investigations for alleged sales of unregistered pesticides, and successfully obtained a determination of pesticidal non-regulation from US EPA for innovative technology designed to reduce methane emissions. He also provides analysis of California climate disclosure requirements under SB 253, SB 261, and AB 1305, and has represented agricultural organizations in complex Proposition 65 litigation in California, obtaining a consent judgment establishing health-based levels for naturally-occurring elements in crops. He has performed environmental due diligence for renewable energy and conventional energy projects across the United States.

Bob holds a J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law (1992), a Certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College (1996), and a B.S. in Government from the United States Coast Guard Academy (1985). He is a decorated veteran, having served as a Lieutenant Commander in the US Coast Guard and earning the US Coast Guard Meritorious Service Medal and the US Navy Commendation Medal. He has been listed as a Recognized Lawyer by The Legal 500 in Environmental: Litigation and Environmental: Regulatory.
