Janet P. Jakubowicz

Janet P. Jakubowicz is a Partner in Dentons' Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, specialising in Dispute Resolution. She focuses on complex commercial litigation, including intercompany and intracompany disputes, fiduciary litigation, securities, intellectual property and class actions, as well as appeals stemming from business disputes.

Janet regularly acts as lead counsel in complex fiduciary litigation cases, representing trustees, executors and beneficiaries in significant breach of fiduciary disputes. She has also represented corporate clients including banks, manufacturers, brokerage firms and professional service firms in bet-the-company litigation involving unfair competitive business practices and intellectual property disputes. Notable representations include serving as co-lead counsel in a high-profile fiduciary litigation dispute that resulted in a $500+ million jury verdict and the largest award of prejudgment interest in Kentucky history, affirmed by the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. She also acted as lead counsel to multiple financial institutions in connection with Feeder Funds in the Bernie Madoff Ponzi scheme and as co-lead counsel in a class action involving disputed property rights with respect to the names and signatures of professional baseball players.

Janet holds a J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law (1982) and a B.A. from the University of Louisville (1979).
