Chad Higgins

Chad Higgins is a Partner in the Commercial Litigation practice in the Portland, Maine office, specialising in Commercial Litigation. He is an experienced litigator who represents clients in state and federal courts across the United States in all stages of litigation and trial, with a practice encompassing products liability and mass tort defense, with a focus on environmental litigation.

Chad has defended numerous businesses in lawsuits related to Per- and Polyfluorinated Substances (PFAS) and groundwater contamination lawsuits regarding Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether (MTBE). He also provides Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulatory counseling and represents clients in grand jury investigations, and advises clients on compliance involving the FDA, Federal Trade Commission, California's Prop 65, and consumer class actions related to marketing claims and ingredients. He counsels clients across industries including pharmaceuticals, energy, consumer products, and food and beverage on risk management and regulatory compliance.

Chad holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center (2003) and a B.A. from Colby College (1997).
