Brit L. Geiger

Brit L. Geiger is a Partner and a member of Dentons' New York Trusts, Estates and Wealth Preservation group. His primary practice area is Wills and Trusts, and he concentrates his practice in domestic and international estate planning and administration.

He assists high-net-worth clients with wealth management and estate planning, including the preparation of wills and revocable trusts, as well as sophisticated planning instruments such as qualified personal residence trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, dynasty trusts and family limited partnerships and limited liability companies.

He advises US and foreign clients on planning for the tax-efficient transfer of their assets, whether located in the United States or in foreign jurisdictions.

He also practises in the area of nonprofit organisations, representing both public charities and individuals engaged in charitable income and estate tax planning, including the formation, qualification and ongoing administration of private foundations, private operating foundations and supporting organisations.

His recognition includes being listed in New York Best Lawyers (2007–present) and New York Super Lawyers (2007–present), and he has been a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (1989–present).

He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Florida Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association, where he chaired the Committee on Estate and Gift Taxation from 2010 to 2013.

He holds a JD from Columbia Law School (1972) and a BA from Yale University (1968).
