Brian W. Chellgren, Ph.D.

Brian W. Chellgren, Ph.D. is a Partner and Chair of the Intellectual Property and Technology group at Dentons Bingham Greenebaum, focusing on all aspects of intellectual property law, including patent prosecution, patent validity and infringement opinions, licensing, trademark selection and enforcement, copyright, and IP counseling.

He manages global patent and trademark portfolios for clients in diverse industries, including hobby gaming, green energy, medical devices, consumer products, and tobacco and hemp. Notable matters include leading a team representing a popular board game publishing company in its asset sale, drafting and prosecuting a portfolio of over 200 patent applications for a major research university in the fields of diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices and computer-aided diagnostics, and managing global trademark portfolios and enforcement actions for leading hobby gaming companies. He also serves as outside counsel for the Game Manufacturers Association, regularly advising game designers, developers and publishers worldwide.

Brian holds a J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law (2008), a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Kentucky (2005), and a B.S. in Molecular Biology, cum laude, from Vanderbilt University (2000). He is a registered Patent Attorney (Reg. No. 59,253) and is recognized by Chambers USA for Intellectual Property and by The Best Lawyers in America for Corporate Law.
