Brian K. O'Bleness

Brian K. O'Bleness is Chair of Dentons' US Competition & Antitrust practice and a member of the White Collar & Government Investigations group, based in the Washington, DC office, practicing in Competition Law. He has more than 30 years of experience in antitrust and competition law matters, including regulatory actions, government investigations, civil litigation, and criminal matters, and regularly advises clients on operational issues involving antitrust risk such as information exchange, competitor collaboration, pricing and distribution structures, joint ventures, and merger control. He is dual-qualified as a lawyer in the US and a solicitor in England and Wales.

Mr. O'Bleness has significant experience in global investigations and anti-corruption matters, representing clients in FCPA investigations before the SEC and DOJ, including a global health care and medical device company and Layne Christensen Company. He also defended DiversiTech against competitor claims of illegal monopolization and obtained a jury verdict and damages award in favor of Transtate on its counterclaim for anticompetitive conduct. He conducts risk assessments, internal investigations, and remediation for global companies covering competition/antitrust, fraud, corruption, and bribery risks.

Brian holds a J.D. with honors from The George Washington University Law School (1994), where he served as Articles Editor of The George Washington Journal of International Law & Economics, a B.S., cum laude, in International Business and Economics from Missouri State University (1987), and a Certificate in Compliance Essentials from the University of Cape Town (2021).
